Zaharis PTO Community Meeting

Treasury Report: Lara highlighted that we spent over $12,000 on school improvements and teacher appreciation this year. We are expecting a check from Bashas for $2000 and one from Fry’s for $500. We have more earned from Fry’s – but they only pay in $500 increments. We should have another check of approx $650 coming from Boxtops.

 

Family Game night was a success. We discussed the event and made a few suggestions for the next one such as only holding the pizza time to ˝ hour and starting the games a little earlier. Music would have been nice too. We don’t have all the receipts in for this event – but we covered our costs and everyone had fun – which was the goal. The next one will be on May 5th – pizza from 6-6:30 and Bingo from 6:30-7:30.

 

The Second Annual Alex and Jenny Casteel Links to Library Golf Tournament will be held on April 8th at the Trilogy Golf Resort. We have 104 golfers signed up and 20 or so dinner and show only guests. Most of the Silent Auction baskets are done – and were on display for opening bids. They will be on display all week after school also. Chris had a sign-up sheet for volunteers. If you are not a golfer and would like to help out with this event – please contact Mr. Ritter at

We have a few volunteer positions open for next year that we will need to fill before the end of the year. If you are interested in the following roles – please contact the PTO phone at 308-7252 or reply to this email:

 

PTO – Board Member – Attend Board meetings, duties vary depending on position held. Help plan what fundraisers and activities the PTO will sponsor.

 

PTO Volunteer Manager – Keep the Volunteer Manager System up-to-date with parent’s current room numbers and interests. Assist in selecting lists of parents to contact for activities as they come along.

 

PTO Web Master – Keep the PTO web page up-to-date with current minutes to the meetings, newsletters, and activities.

 

ECA Committee members – Planning with the chair person to determine how and when to spread the word about ECA contributions.

Bedtime stories will be on Wed. April 19th at 6:30.

 

April 5th is Zaharis night at the Phoenix Suns Game.

 

Mr. Oliver helped with both the prize drawing for the kids and the one for the adults.

 

He also talked about the possibility of another Elementary and hopefully a new Jr. High school on the southwest corner of McKellips and Ellsworth. We only have room for about 2 or 3 more modular’s before we are full.

 

Out next PTO Board meeting will be held on Apr. 3rd at 8:00 am.

 

The next Community meeting will be on May. 4th at 2:30pm. Daycare will be provided.
